SNMMI honors Vasken Dilsizian with two distinctions at 2026 meeting

Vasken Dilsizian, MDVasken Dilsizian, MDSNMMIVasken Dilsizian, MD, professor of radiology and medicine at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, has received two honors at the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) 2026 Annual Meeting: the Henry N. Wagner, Jr., MD, Lectureship and the Minoshima-Pappas Transformational Leadership Award.

Dilsizian is recognized for contributions including pioneering work on thallium reinjection for stress imaging, research on myocardial ischemia detection in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and first demonstration of the feasibility of FDG PET/CT for diagnosing infection of left ventricular assist devices. He served as SNMMI president from 2019 to 2020, leading the society through the COVID-19 pandemic and its first all-virtual annual meeting, and currently serves as chief of the Division of Nuclear Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

The Wagner Lectureship is delivered annually by a distinguished leader whose work has shaped the field. The Minoshima-Pappas Transformational Leadership Award recognizes individuals whose vision and leadership have fundamentally advanced nuclear medicine and molecular imaging.
