David Larson, MD, named radiology chair at University of Utah

David Larson, MD, has been named chair of the department of radiology and imaging sciences at the University of Utah Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine, effective September 14.

Larson joins the University of Utah from Stanford University, where he served as executive vice chair and acting chair of the department of radiology, as well as medical director of improvement for Stanford Health Care and director of the Stanford Radiology AI Development and Evaluation Lab. He is a pediatric radiologist by training and earned his MD and MBA degrees from Yale University before completing residency and fellowship training at the University of Colorado.

Larson has served as an American Board of Radiology (ABR) trustee since 2018 and currently serves as vice president of the American College of Radiology (ACR). His work has focused on quality improvement, patient safety, and AI evaluation in radiology.
