The American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS) Roentgen Fund has selected its 2027 radiology journalism fellows.
The recipients include Dhairya Lakhani, MD, of West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute as the 2027 Melvin M. Figley Fellow in Radiology Journalism and Francesca Castagnoli, MD, of The Royal Marsden Hospital in London as the Lee F. Rogers International Fellow in Radiology Journalism.
The fellowships provide training in medical publishing through the American Journal of Roentgenology, including an apprenticeship with Editor-in-Chief Andrew Rosenkrantz, MD. The fellows will receive instruction in scientific writing, manuscript preparation and editing, peer review, journalism ethics, and digital publication.
Lakhani is vice chair of clinical research and medical director of informatics at West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute, and Castagnoli is a consultant radiologist specializing in oncologic imaging at The Royal Marsden. The two will co-present the Radiology Year in Review session at the 2027 ARRS annual meeting in Denver.
