ARRS honors Kruskal, Katz with 2026 Gold Medal

The American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS) has awarded its 2026 Gold Medal -- the society's highest honor -- to Jonathan B. Kruskal, MB, ChB, PhD, and Douglas S. Katz, MD.

Kruskal is the Melvin E. Clouse professor of radiology at Harvard Medical School and chair of the department of radiology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, both in Boston. He served as ARRS president from 2021 to 2022 and has published more than 250 manuscripts, with his work focused on peer learning, quality improvement, and physician well-being.

Katz is vice chair for research in the department of radiology at NYU Langone Hospital - Long Island and a professor of radiology at NYU Long Island School of Medicine. He has coauthored more than 1,000 publications and abstracts and received the Radiological Society of North America's Lifetime Honored Educator Award in 2023.

Both honorees received their medals during the opening ceremony of the 2026 ARRS Annual Meeting in Pittsburgh.
