Misys debuts new products, sets 4.3 release date

DALLAS - Healthcare information technology provider Misys Healthcare Systems unveiled its Misys Connect Web-based data-sharing software at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference this week and set the release date for version 4.3 of its Misys Radiology RIS product.

Misys Connect provides physicians with a single secure source where they can view patient data from any care setting or clinical system. The product allows healthcare facilities to connect with community physicians, as well as home-care and long-term care providers, the company said.

Medical records are accessible through the system via a Web application or through a Misys or third-party clinical application integrated with Misys Connect network services. The product will be available early next year and will be used in a test release later this summer.

The Tucson, AZ-based firm also reported the Web browser-based release of its Misys CPR enterprise patient record system. Misys CPR incorporates data-access tools that provide physicians with remote access to patient clinical information.

In addition to its new product debuts, the developer said that the latest version, 4.3, of its Misys Radiology RIS will be generally available this month. A desktop-integrated RIS/PACS product will be released later this year.
