Bochdalek Hernia:

Clinical:

Bochdalek hernias occur as a result of persistence of the embryonic pleuroperitoneal canal. The defect occurs more commonly on the left as the right side closes sooner during development. Typically omental or retroperitoneal fat can herniate through the defect, but bowel or kidney may also be displaced through the lesion.
