Johns Hopkins exec gets HIMSS honors

The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) has awarded the John E. Gall Jr./CIO Award to Stephanie L. Reel, the society has announced. Reel is CIO and vice president of Johns Hopkins Hospital and Health System, CIO and vice provost for information technology of the Johns Hopkins University, and vice president, information services of Johns Hopkins Medicine.

The award recognizes a HIMSS member and information technology integration executive who has demonstrated innovative leadership and accomplishments in health information systems or technology administration. Additionally, the recipient must have performed in a manner that has had a significant, positive impact on healthcare, exceeding industry standards, according to HIMSS. Reed has more than 15 years of experience in health information systems, working with healthcare providers and payors. April 29,2000
