Mammogen has appointed Elise Berman, MD, as chief medical officer as the company advances its genTRU-breast RNA-based molecular diagnostic for breast cancer detection toward clinical validation and commercialization.
Berman previously served as chief medical officer at Delphinus Medical Technologies, where she led clinical development and medical affairs for a breast imaging platform that was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). She also held medical affairs roles at AstraZeneca supporting breast oncology, according to the company.
Berman also served as medical director and section chief of breast imaging at Fairfax Radiological Consultants, where she helped build four breast imaging centers and established one of the region's first breast MRI program. She had previously served as a senior medical advisor to Mammogen, shaping clinical trial design and establishing partnerships with academic institutions and radiology groups, the firm said.
