Massachusetts researchers followed nearly 7,000 women who were diagnosed with breast cancer from 1990 to 1999, tracking their death rates through 2007. The results showed not only more breast cancer deaths among women who were not screened, but also mortality rates 10 times higher compared to those who received screening.
