Kodak to incorporate RealTimeImage technology

Image-streaming technology developer RealTimeImage (RTI) has signed a licensing agreement with the Health Imaging Division of Eastman Kodak. The deal will enable Kodak to integrate RTI's iPACS medical application software using Pixels-on-Demand technology into Kodak's Distributed Medical Imaging systems, according to San Bruno, CA-based RTI.

The integration will enable physicians using the Kodak DMI system to access, view, and navigate large images and long sequences of DICOM images in real time over the Internet without loss of image quality, RTI said. Pixels-on-Demand technology streamlines the diagnostic process by improving communication between referring physicians and radiologists in hospitals, offices, or homes, RTI said.
