UPPI names Colin Spear president

Nuclear pharmacy network United Pharmacy Partners (UPPI) has named Colin Spear as president, effective Aug. 1, as the organization looks to expand its role in the radiopharmaceutical and theranostics markets.

Spear will lead the Suwanee, Georgia-based organization's strategic direction, including shareholder and affiliate value, vendor relationships, financial and operational oversight, and group purchasing initiatives, according to the company. He will also work with the board and member organizations to identify growth opportunities in nuclear medicine, PET imaging, and theranostics, UPPI said.

Spear has more than 13 years of experience in the radiopharmaceutical, nuclear medicine, PET imaging, and theranostics sectors, according to the vendor. He joins UPPI from RLS Radiopharmacies, where he served as area sales director for the eastern United States, and has previously held national commercial leadership roles focused on PET and therapeutic strategies.

Founded in 1998, UPPI represents more than 55 independent and institutional radiopharmacy operating sites across the U.S.
