Philips adds languages to SpeechMagic

Dutch industrial conglomerate Royal Philips Electronics has added two new languages for its SpeechMagic speech recognition technology.

In addition to Canadian French, Philips now offers Canadian English to better reflect the local language characteristics and documentation requirements, the company said.

Philips has also added Slovenian, bringing the total of SpeechMagic's recognition languages to 25.

The new additions will facilitate integration of the technology with healthcare IT systems worldwide, according to Philips, the parent company of Philips Medical Systems of Andover, MA.
