Imaging informatics firm Viztek will introduce its Opal-Billing application at this month's RSNA meeting in Chicago.
Opal-Billing shares a single database with Viztek's Opal-Rad PACS and Opal-RIS applications, and provides billing functionality and data over the Internet to multiple offices or wherever needed, according to the Boston-based firm. It integrates with Opal-RIS to import studies automatically into its billing charge module; users then read radiology reports with Opal-Rad PACS, add ICD-9 codes, and verify them for accuracy, Viztek said.
Claims information can be viewed and modified, with co-payments applied, Viztek said. Electronic claims can then be submitted to a clearinghouse in HIPAA-compliant 8937 format, and a claims-tracking module helps insurance clerks monitor and manage claims, according to the firm.
