Softek adds to radiology data mining portfolio

PACS search engine software developer Softek Solutions will be introducing its Illuminate Analytics radiology data mining software at this month's 2009 RSNA meeting in Chicago.

A business intelligence-oriented application, Illuminate Analytics can provide PACS administrators with access to data such as exam volumes by modality, exams per patient, number and types of exams ordered per clinician, and number and type of exams read per radiologist, according to the Prairie Village, KS-based firm.

In other Softek news, the company has added new functionality to its existing Illuminate software, which can now automatically retrieve relevant prior studies. This information appears in a window that remains minimized until the radiologist hovers over the Illuminate icon on the iSite PACS software from Philips Healthcare of Andover, MA, Softek said.
