Siemens inks IT contract, adds clients

Siemens Healthcare of Malvern, PA, has received a new 10-year $13 million contract from Faith Regional Health Services, based in Norfolk, NE.

Under the contract, Siemens will migrate the healthcare provider to Soarian's healthcare information system and have all of Faith's physicians utilizing computerized physician order entry (CPOE) in conjunction with the opening of a new hospital tower in spring 2010.

Two other Siemens health IT customers recently launched additional Soarian applications within their facilities as part of their electronic health record systems.

Denver-based Denver Health went live on Soarian Clinicals software including results, clinical documentation, workflow, and Soarian Critical Care in December 2009, with additional Soarian launch events scheduled soon.

In addition, Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH, last October completed the first phase of its Soarian migration. Wentworth-Douglass is currently in the process of implementing additional applications including Soarian Clinicals' emergency department tracking board and CPOE capabilities, launching in October 2010, and Soarian patient access/revenue cycle management and Soarian scheduling, launching in early 2011.
