CynergisTek rolls out security service

CynergisTek of Austin, TX, has launched its HIPAA/HITECH Security Compliance Review service for small hospitals.

The service takes a hospital through all of the privacy and security requirements of HIPAA and the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act, evaluates its current performance, and identifies compliance gaps. The service qualifies for the U.S. Office of Rural Health Policy's Small Rural Hospital Improvement (SHIP) grants.

The SHIP grant program provides funding to small rural hospitals with 49 or fewer beds to help them comply with HIPAA provisions.
