Merge debuts patient kiosk at HIMSS

Advanced visualization and healthcare IT developer Merge Healthcare of Milwaukee has launched a new patient kiosk at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference in Atlanta.

Merge Patient Kiosk is an avatar-based service that provides patients with assistance from a professional who can see and talk directly to patients, according to Merge. Integrated with Merge's Fusion RIS, the system can set alerts, update a patient's status, and scan documents, such as a driver's license and insurance card, all within the normal workflow of a healthcare operation.
