ORLANDO, FL - Internet-based medical coding technology and services provider CodeRyte unveiled a new tool to automate billing codes for angiography at the Society for Computer Applications in Radiology (SCAR) meeting.
The application automatically assigns the multiple current procedure terminology (CPT) codes associated with angiography directly from the free-text of the medical report using natural language processing (NLP) technology, according to the Bethesda, MD-based company.
In addition, the tool displays unique anatomical diagrams for each note that show where catheters were positioned and what body parts were imaged. It also ranks the applicable relative value units (RVUs) and displays a summary table of the procedure.
In other news, the firm reported that it has bolstered its client base with the addition of Rush University Medical Center and Affiliated Physicians in Chicago, as well as outpatient imaging provider Baton Rouge Radiology Group in Baton Rouge, LA. CodeRyte also noted that a current customer, Western Physicians Data Service of St. Louis, has added the company's pathology application to its operations.
