IDX reports class-action suit

Healthcare informatics firm IDX Systems said that it has been served with a shareholder class-action lawsuit against the company and certain of its officers and directors.

The Burlington, VT-based firm said that a complaint was filed on October 24 this year in Vermont Superior Court, Chittenden County, that challenges the price of and the process leading to IDX's agreement to be acquired by GE Healthcare of Chalfont St. Giles, U.K.

IDX's chief executive officer James Crook Jr. said that the suit is without merit and that the company intends to vigorously defend itself against the allegations.
