IHE technical frameworks available

The Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) initiative of Oak Brook, IL, has published proposed supplements to its Laboratory Technical Framework and Radiology Technical Framework.

The laboratory supplements, Laboratory Device Automation, Laboratory Point Of Care Testing, Laboratory Information Reconciliation, and Laboratory Code Set Distribution, are available for download and review at the IHE Technical Framework Web site.

Public comment on the proposed laboratory supplements is invited through July 15, and can be made through the RSNA's online discussion forums.

The radiology supplement, Cross-enterprise Document Sharing for Imaging (XDS-I), is also available for download and review at the IHE Web site. Public comments are invited through July 12.

In addition to the proposed supplements for public comment, the IHE radiology technical committee has made available the Radiology Audit Trail Option and the Teaching File and Clinical Trial Export supplements for trial implementation. The IHE cardiology technical committee has also released its Displayable Reports (DRPT), Cath and Echo Evidence Documents (ED), and Summary of Integration Profiles from Other Domains supplements for trial implementation, which runs through March 6, 2006, according to the IHE cardiology committee.
