CIVCO launches new needle guides

Accessories provider CIVCO Medical Instruments of Kalona, IA, has launched several new general-purpose and endocavity needle-guidance systems designed to be used with the Sonoline G40 ultrasound scanner from Siemens Medical Solutions of Malvern, PA.

CIVCO's Ultra-Pro II needle guidance systems are designed to be used with six G40 transducers, including the CH5-2 and VF10-5 probes. The guides incorporate a two-part system consisting of a reusable multiangled biopsy bracket and a disposable snap-on needle guide that directs instruments according to on-screen system software guidelines, according to the company.

CIVCO has also launched endocavity needle guidance systems for use on G40's EC9-4 and EV9-4 transducers. Disposable needle guides attach to the transducer by snapping directly into locating grooves, providing a low-profile fit to transducers while ensuring proper positioning for image-guided procedures.
