Pulmonary Cholesterol Granulomas

Clinical:

Pulmonary cholesterol granulomas are unusual lesions found in some patients with endogenous lipoid pneumonia, alveolar proteinosis, lysinuric protein intolerance, and in patients with severe pulmonary artery hypertension.

X-ray:

Plain films may reveal small (< 3 mm), bilateral, ill-defined pulmonary nodules. CT scan better reveals the nodules and their centrilobular distribution.
