5 risk factors help predict brain hemorrhage on CT
U.K. researchers have identified five factors -- including contrast leakage on CT scans -- that may indicate a higher risk of continued bleeding in the brain of stroke patients. Checking for these factors may help improve survival, according to an article published online on August 14 in Lancet Neurology.

Lung cancer overdiagnosis varies widely on CT screening
The concept of overdiagnosis has bedeviled the mammography screening debate, and it's beginning to show up in CT lung cancer screening as well. A study published online August 13 in JAMA Internal Medicine found an overdiagnosis rate of 67% in a Danish lung screening program -- much higher than rates in other programs.
