UnitedHealthcare, Oxford Health Plans donate imaging equipment

Healthcare insurance providers UnitedHealthcare and Oxford Health Plans have made a donation of $1.8 million of medical imaging equipment, including mammography ultrasound, and bone densitometry systems to three federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) in Connecticut.

A total of six FQHCs will receive imaging equipment as part of the donation, which will make breast cancer screenings available to more than 35,000 women who utilize the six healthcare centers, according to the insurance providers.

A normal mammogram confirmed by three-year radiologic follow-up illustrates reader-marked regions of interest (ROIs) during (A) unaided (round 1) and (B) artificial intelligence (AI)–assisted (round 2) reading.
