Instrumentarium gets FDA nod for 3-D, stereotactic features

Mammography vendor Instrumentarium says it has received Food and Drug Administration Clearance for its Delta 32 TACT 3-D breast imaging system and Delta 32 digital stereotactic system. The new features will be available on the Milwaukee-based firm’s Diamond breast care system.

Delta 32’s new 3-D feature allows users to view the breast in three dimensions, or in separate layers for assessment of biopsy depth and wire localization placement, according to the vendor. Instrumentarium says the stereotactic feature offers the ability to image from any two angles, reducing the need to reposition the patient, as well as saving time and improving the patient’s experience.
