Some differences in imaging equipment can seem innocuous. Sure, maybe one MRI unit has more bells and whistles than another, but is patient care really compromised if the features aren't the same in every system?
Researchers from the University of Chicago say yes. Their study showed that kinetic curves of malignant breast lesions aren't consistent across MRI systems -- and such discrepancies could notably affect a woman's breast cancer treatment.
