Screening mammography has become a major public health success story, with many researchers crediting the technology with helping to reduce the incidence of breast cancer in countries with active screening programs.
A new study featured in our Women's Imaging Digital Community this week tracks the rapid growth of mammography in the U.S. Medicare population, highlighting the sharp rise in screening rates from 1996 through 2005.

As if radiologists didn't have enough to worry about, a new Web site has launched that asks patients to submit their stories of radiology errors. The site, YourMisdiagnosis.com, says its goal is to raise awareness of the incidence of missed diagnoses in healthcare.
