ISMRM: Maruf Adewole shares how MRI, AI can expand global care

Adewole serves as executive director of the Medical Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (MAI Lab) based in Lagos, Nigeria. He is also involved with initiatives like the Brain Tumor Segmentation (BraTS)-Africa dataset, ABreast, and SPARK Academy. Adewole is also a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

At the International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) meeting, Adewole presented a keynote lecture on how MRI can be advanced for use by clinicians around the world, including increasing accessibility and efficiency.

He shared details with AuntMinnie about the aforementioned projects he is involved in, how global collaboration can accelerate global health initiatives, and what radiologists attending ISMRM can take back to their home institutions.
