RSNA reports increases in journal impact factors across portfolio

RSNA said it made gains in journal impact factors across its publication portfolio for 2025, with Radiology: Artificial Intelligence posting the most dramatic increase. 

The AI-focused journal recorded a journal impact factor of 20.1, up from 13.2 in 2024, ranking first among 217 journals in the Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and Medical Imaging category and fifth among 210 journals in the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence category, according to the organization. The journal had 4,771 citations in 2025. 

RSNA's flagship journal, Radiology, posted an impact factor of 17.6, up from 15.2 in 2024, with 61,752 citations. Other journals in the portfolio also recorded gains: 

  • Radiology: Imaging Cancer: 7.2 (up from 6.3 in 2024); 1,036 citations. 

  • RadioGraphics: 6.2 (up from 5.5); 15,527 citations.

  • Radiology: Cardiothoracic Imaging: 4.5 (up from 4.2); 1,571 citations. 

  • Radiology Advances: 1.8 (first designation for the open-access journal, which launched in 2024). 

In May 2026, RSNA signed a 10-year agreement with Wolters Kluwer to publish five of its journals. Radiology Advances will continue to be published through Oxford University Press, the society said.
