Barnes-Jewish to install IMRIS intraoperative MRI

Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO, will install IMRIS' iSpace surgical imaging suite, which will allow the facility's neurosurgeons to perform MRI scans while surgery is in progress.

The iSpace suite includes an Espree high-field intraoperative MRI scanner from Siemens Medical Solutions of Malvern, PA; integrated surgical image guidance; and information and data management.

iSpace was developed by IMRIS of Winnipeg, Manitoba, and will be incorporated into the design of two operating rooms currently under construction at Barnes-Jewish. The $100 million project is scheduled for completion in early 2008.
