IMRIS lands iSpace install

Canadian intraoperative MRI (iMRI) developer IMRIS of Winnipeg, Manitoba, will install its iSpace system at Children's Hospital in Atlanta.

The intraoperative MRI system will be up and running by August 2007, and will provide real-time images to surgeons in the operating room. iSpace enables surgeons to determine the size and shape of brain tumors, and to distinguish between malignant and healthy tissue, IMRIS said.

The installation makes Children's Hospital one of only four pediatric facilities in the world to adopt iSpace and the first in the Southeast, according to the company.
