Nuance scores Army order

Speech recognition firm Nuance Communications of Burlington, MA, has received an order from the U.S. Army Medical Department (AMEDD) for its Dragon Medical software.

The medical speech recognition software will be used by some 10,000 AMEDD physicians as part of the Army's MEDCOM AHLTA Provider Satisfaction (MAPS) initiative to enhance clinicians’ experience with AHLTA, the military’s electronic health record system.

AMEDD went live with its full suite of MAPS clinical IT products, including Dragon Medical, at 16 medical sites on January 20.
