Bio-Imaging buys Phoenix Data Systems

Bio-Imaging Technologies of Newtown, PA, has acquired Phoenix Data Systems of King of Prussia, PA, for $24 million.

Phoenix Data Systems provides clinical electronic data capture (EDC) services, such as interactive voice response, reporting, and data management, as well as interoperable eClinical data products, to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

Phoenix Data Systems, which had revenues of $12 million in 2007, will retain its name and continue under the management of current president Dr. William Claypool. The company's 127 employees will join Bio-Imaging as a new division within the company's core clinical trials services business.
