Foresight upgrades TIMS, releases software

PACS technology developer Foresight Imaging of Lowell, MA, has introduced new upgrades to improve workflow and functionality of its TIMS DICOM system.

The system allows healthcare facilities to convert any non-DICOM medical modality to DICOM. The resulting digital studies can be sent to PACS; recorded to CD, DVD, or USB; and printed on film or paper.

One of TIMS DICOMS key new features is Update Patient Information, which increases connectivity of DICOM modalities that cannot communicate with DICOM Modality Worklist: TIMS receives the study from the modality and allows the technologist to match the study with a DMWL query before sending the updated study to PACS. Update Patient Information can also allow technologists to add patient demographics or correct patient information in studies received via CD or DVD.

Foresight has also released a software-only version of their TIMS DICOM Gateway software, which can convert JPG, BMP, and AVI files to DICOM. The DICOM studies can then be sent to PACS; recorded to CD, DVD, or USB; or printed. The software includes DICOM Modality Worklist; JPG, BMP, and AVI DICOM conversion; DICOM print; Windows print; CD/DVD burning; DICOM query/retrieve; DICOM receive; and DICOM send.
