Misys, IBM collaborate on EMR offering

Healthcare IT firm Misys Healthcare Systems and IBM of Somers, NY, have released Express Solution for Healthcare Providers, an electronic medical record (EMR) application for small- and medium-size physician practices.

Raleigh, NC-based Misys said the application suite provides enables practices to reduce their use of paper documentation by implementing a suite of Misys applications. These applications are combined with IBM System p5 Express servers, storage, and middleware with the IBM AIX 5L operating system, IBM system x236 server with the Microsoft Windows operating system, the IBM Informix Dynamic Server database, the Lenovo ThinkPad tablet PC, and optional IBM System Storage products.
