Ferrania to unveil LifeWeb RIS 2.4, notches French install

The Ferrania UK division of medical imaging device and software developer Ferrania Imaging Technologies will debut the latest iteration of the company's RIS product, LifeWeb RIS 2.4, at the UK Radiological Congress in Birmingham, England, May 15-17.

In addition to the RIS offering, the firm will be showcasing its LifeWeb OnNet 4.0, a DICOM Web server that distributes, displays, and processes medical images. The product supports 3D reconstruction, DICOM modality worklist (MWL) and modality performed procedure step (MPPS), as well as structured reports and failover capabilities, according to Cairo Montenotte, Italy-based Ferrania.

In other news, the company reported that the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Montpellier (CHU) in Montpellier, France, has installed a Ferrania LifeImaging DR 982 system at the Lapeyronie Hospital. This is the third installation of a Ferrania DR system with CHU, the vendor said.
