VitalWorks names new chief executive

Radiology information systems firm VitalWorks has named Dr. Stephen Kahane as president and CEO.

Kahane will take over the responsibilities on September 1 from Joseph Walsh, who will remain as chairman of the Ridgefield, CT, firm. Kahane previously was vice chairman and chief strategy officer at the company.

The move reflects the changing responsibilities of the two executives over the past year, with Walsh focusing on long-term strategy and Kahane taking on an operational role, according to Walsh.
