Carestream debuts PowerViewer

CHARLOTTE, NC - Carestream Health of Rochester, NY, debuted its new PowerViewer application at the 2009 Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) meeting.

PowerViewer is designed to provide automatic registration and matching of volumetric data from current and prior images from similar or different modalities. Automatic registration among different studies enables radiologists to manipulate data in any spatial plane, and the other dataset will follow automatically.

Radiologists can view data in different planes without switching to other applications or workstations. The application is available as a software upgrade for existing customers.

PowerViewer is part of Carestream's SuperPACS, which links existing multivendor, multisite PACS platforms. Carestream's PACS and Super PACS currently are available, while the company's RIS will be available in mid-July.

The RIS will feature structured reporting, voice-driven commands, and the ability to copy content from prior reports.
