Siemens to show latest IT at SIIM 2009

Siemens Healthcare of Malvern, PA, plans to demonstrate the latest developments to its radiology, cardiology, and image processing portfolio at this week's annual meeting of the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) in Charlotte, NC.

Siemens will demonstrate new enhancements to its syngo Workflow multifacility RIS, and will highlight the latest syngo portals designed to provide role-based access to applications and information.

The company's newest Web-based portal is syngo Portal Executive, designed to support the management of issues relevant to executives, department managers, and IT administrators, including exam volume trends, patient wait time monitoring, and report turnaround times.

Syngo Portal Radiologist has been enhanced with new tools to provide radiologists with information such as new and previous imaging studies, previous reports, and lab values in one application window.

In addition, syngo Workflow's embedded dictation tool, syngo Voice, has been updated to include context-sensitive shortcuts to enhance dictation.

In other news, the new version of syngo Imaging V35 PACS is now available, featuring enhanced scalability and performance. New features include functions for patient parking and demos. Version 35 also offers a combination of independent computer-aided detection and advanced visualization imaging tools at the PACS viewing workstation.

Siemens also will show its work-in-progress syngo Dynamics cardio PACS version 8.0, designed to help organizations improve efficiency of clinical procedures in cardiovascular imaging, vascular ultrasound, general imaging, and ob/gyn.
