RIS Logic debuts new software modules

Information systems developer RIS Logic of Solon, OH, has updated its flagship software with new billing and scheduling features. The company unveiled version 4.0 of its RIS Logic Radiology Information System at this month’s RSNA meeting in Chicago.

To develop the new billing module, RIS Logic integrated its software with the Xpeditor electronic claims submission application developed by Quadax of Cleveland. Users can edit claims, verify procedures, and ensure that diagnosis codes are valid and are compatible with the payor’s files prior to submitting the claim.

RIS Logic said the new module reduces claims errors and can shorten the reimbursement turnaround cycle to within 7-14 days, compared to 30 days for a facility that uses a RIS without electronic claims submission.

On the scheduling side, RIS Logic has based its scheduling module on Microsoft’s Outlook calendar software. Users can view all used, blocked, or open time slots, and can view room utilization percentages.

The system also enables users to schedule multiple appointments and/or appointments with multiple procedures that are associated with the lead procedure code. These appointments can be scheduled, tracked, and billed throughout the workflow process, with the software listing all the codes that have been preassociated with the lead procedure code.
