Stereotaxis catheter begins U.S. clinical usage

Image-guided interventional surgery firm Stereotaxis of St. Louis said that three electrophysiology sites in the U.S. are using its Celsius RMT diagnostic and ablation catheter.

The catheter, which was co-developed by Stereotaxis and Biosense Webster, recently received Food and Drug Administration approval for use with the firm's Niobe magnetic navigation system, the company said.

The facilities that have utilized the device are the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland; Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis in Memphis, TN; and St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Boston.
