Philips nabs Australian cardiovascular contract

Philips Healthcare of Andover, MA, has entered the cardiovascular information systems market in Australia with a new contract.

Gold Coast Hospital has chosen Philips' cardiovascular information systems software to grow its existing cardiac system capabilities as part of the construction of a new 750-bed Gold Coast University Hospital that will be completed in 2012. Gold Coast Hospital plans to increase its cardiac capabilities to include multiple cardiac catheter labs and echocardiography systems, Philips said.
