Digisonics to launch cath module

Ultrasound image management firm Digisonics of Houston is planning to launch a new catheterization module for its DigiView cardiology PACS software at the upcoming American College of Cardiology (ACC) meeting in Orlando, FL.

The new cath module interfaces with patient registration, hemodynamics, and radiographic systems to ensure a seamless workflow, according to the company. In addition, DigiView users can derive departmental statistics for accreditation and research purposes.

Physicians can use their own preferred coronary artery map or the left- and right-dominant maps provided by the software. Beyond annotation of coronary diagrams, the software also provides quantitative coronary artery analysis with automatic edge detection. Upon finalization, cardiac cath reports can be automatically transmitted to an integrated electronic medical record system, hospital information system, RIS, and/or PACS network.
