Merge enjoys Q2 gains

Healthcare IT and advanced visualization developer Merge Healthcare of Milwaukee posted higher sales for the second quarter (end-June 30) and moved into the black compared to the same period the previous year.

For the second quarter, net sales totaled $15.4 million, a 16% increase compared to $13.3 million for the same period in 2008. Net income was $400,000, compared with a net loss of $18.2 million in the second quarter of 2008.

For the six months ended June 30, net sales totaled $30.7 million, a 13% increase compared to $27.1 million for the same period in 2008. Net income for the six months in 2009 totaled $3.3 million, compared with a net loss of $26 million in 2008, Merge said.
