McKesson nabs Texas contract

Healthcare information systems firm McKesson of Atlanta has won a contract with Medical Center Hospital (MCH) of Odessa, TX, for its computerized physician order entry (CPOE) services.

The 362-bed hospital will add McKesson's CPOE package to its existing suite of McKesson Horizon Clinicals services, including physician documentation and evidence-based care planning tools. MCH has also hired McKesson for clinical consulting services. The hospital plans to complete its system deployment by October 1, 2010.
