Philips hires GE vet Saragnese

Philips Healthcare of Andover, MA, has hired Gene Saragnese, formerly with GE Healthcare of Chalfont St. Giles, U.K., to lead the company's global medical imaging business.

Saragnese has been hired as CEO of the company's Imaging Systems division and reports to Steve Rusckowski, CEO of Philips Healthcare. In the position, Saragnese is responsible for overseeing the company's sales, service, manufacturing, R&D, and other activities on a global basis.

The position does not cover Philips' ultrasound division, which operates as a separate business from the Imaging Systems unit, the company said.
