Carestream to provide imaging technology to Olympics

Carestream Health said it will provide digital medical and dental imaging technology to the Olympic Village Polyclinic in Beijing for the upcoming 2008 Olympic Games.

The Rochester, NY-based vendor will provide two DirectView DR 9500 systems, five DirectView DR 3500 systems, a DirectView CR 975 system, a Point-of-Care CR-ITX 550 system, and its Carestream RIS, PACS, and Enterprise Information Management systems. Carestream will also provide three DryView 6800 laser imagers to the Polyclinic, as well as an additional DR 3500 system for a satellite hospital in Beijing.

In other Carestream news, the company has named Bruce Leidal as chief information officer. He comes to Carestream after most recently serving as chief information officer for automotive supplier Hayes Lemmerz International.
