Radiology decision support and computerized physician-order entry (CPOE) developer Medicalis will showcase its Percipio Radiology Benefits Management application at the RSNA 2006 meeting.

Radiology Benefits Management applies payor guidelines into Precipio, a Web-based enterprise application that allows ordering physicians to place imaging orders with the help of real-time decision support, and essentially preauthorizes the exams while ordering. If the selected exam meets payor criteria, the system will automatically authorize the exam and send a request to the payor for an authorization number that will be applied to the order, according to Kitchener, Ontario-based Medicalis.
