CPU Medical Management Systems of San Diego plans to introduce the latest version of its medical financial management software, MED/FM Release 6.1, at the 2005 RSNA conference.

Release 6.1 features an enhanced appointment scheduler, an all-new System Managed Automated Resource Tool (SMART) job scheduler, document imaging integration, new reports, and the capability to transfer reports to Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.

The new MED/FM 6.1 appointment scheduler allows users to view appointments for five resources at a time and view five days of appointments for one resource. In addition, users can schedule appointments across multiple days without rekeying information for each appointment, and can track patients' movement through a facility.

The SMART function allows MED/FM users to schedule routine jobs to run automatically without operator intervention. With SMART capabilities, jobs can be scheduled to run when the system is not busy or during nonbusiness hours, the company said.

New user-defined fields, enhanced mammography tracking, and a technologist center are also part of MED/FM 6.1. The technologist center allows users to view all resources associated with a technologist's job functions and features color-coded user-defined times.
