ARRT to change training CE credits

Beginning January 1, 2011, the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) of St. Paul, MN, plans to cap continuing education credit for applications training at eight credits per biennium, instead of the previously proposed six credits.

The ARRT said that by limiting the number of credits that can be applied to ARRT's CE requirements, technologists will have the opportunity to participate in other CE activities to expand their knowledge base. The agency added that this policy does not limit the amount of applications training that an individual may do for their own benefit.

The change will apply to section 7 of the ARRT Continuing Education Requirements for Renewal of Registration.

The applications training CE credit limits were prompted by recommendations from organizations that serve ARRT as recognized continuing education evaluators.
